murray-gleadhill.jpgI would like to welcome you to our Internet site and hope that it informs you about our school, staff and the curriculum offerings that are available to your students.

The school was opened in 1963 and has a proud tradition of providing for the educational needs of students and yet is mindful of the need to prepare our students to face the future, confident of achieving success.

Our vision is to be:

A boutique (one of a kind) school that does 'whatever it takes' to cater for the individual differences in all learners ensuring every child succeeds.

The breadth of educational opportunities for students is of prime importance at Musgrave Hill State School. The school seeks to nurture individual talents, enabling students to grow in understanding and confidence. Our curriculum is designed to meet the specific needs of students of all abilities whilst meeting the curriculum requirements of Education Queensland. We firmly believe that students leaving our school in Year 6 should be:

  • A knowledgeable person with deep understanding.
  • A complex thinker.
  • A creative person.
  • An active investigator.
  • An effective communicator.
  • A participant in an independent world.
  • A reflective and self-directed learner.

To achieve this outcome, programs are planned to specifically develop these life-long learning attributes. A considerable number of school level enrichment programs are provided to complement the classroom programs for those students with special talents and abilities. Likewise the school prides itself on the range and effectiveness of its support programs for those students requiring extra assistance in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

Community support is a particular feature of our school, which has been encouraged and developed over a long period of time. Our Community Links Volunteer Program offers opportunities for parents and the community to be part of learning and teaching across the year levels. Musgrave Hill State School has a strong and dedicated Parents and Citizens' Association. We believe that education is a partnership between school and home and that teamwork is essential as we work together to promote the best possible educational outcomes for our students now and into the future.

I look forward to your participation in the life of the school. Should you have any further inquiries or would like to see our school and its facilities, please do not hesitate to contact the school on

Sincere regards

Ms Julie-Anne McGuinness
